Question: What does this message to call 1-800-833-0701 mean?
Answer: This is the prompt to call our help desk to renew your software for the next year of service. The majority of the time, the invoice for service has already been taken care of and the terminal simply needs to dial in for software. Call the 800 number on the screen, let us know you have a message to call us, and someone will walk you through the update.
Question: My terminal is telling me I have 30 days to renew what does this mean?
Answer: This is similar to the call message mentioned above. The newer Legal Age systems have the capability to let you know before the terminal shuts down as to not have any lapse in service. If the countdown does make it to the last day, however, you will receive the above mentioned call message.
Question: What is Program Error?
Answer: The early Verifone terminals Zon, Zon Jr, Zon XL, ZXL, 300, 330, 460 will occasionally get this message. This is generally caused by a small power flicker or the terminal being unplugged and plugged back in before it has adequate time to shut fully down. This can be cleared on all the above models except the 460 by pressing the 5 and 3 keys at the same time. When you do this correctly, you will see a line of numbers on your screen. Once these appear, press enter and you should be ok. On the 460, the keys to press are the enter and 1 key. The terminal should restart and come up correctly. If after doing either of the previous, you get program error again instead of the main screen, or you only have a date and time on the screen, call our help desk to reload your software.
Question: Where can I get paper for my terminal or printer, or ribbons for my 460?
Answer: Your local office supply company should carry these items. For paper, you should be able to supply them the width and type (either thermal or impact). If you are looking for a 460 ribbon, the part number is ERC-09.
